Taamoko
Rawiri has been practicing taamoko since graduating from carving school in Rotorua in 2007. With a deep understanding of matauranga, he transitioned from whakairo rakau to the art of tattooing on skin. Each pattern holds unique significance, with the wearer being the only one who knows the korero behind their piece. Traditionally, wahine would receive a moko kauae, while tane would be adorned with a mataora.
